I will never forget the first time my wife and I sat with a new counselor as we were seeking a safe place to process our collection of pain, confusion, and broken dreams as life had seemingly given us a hand we would have rather not been dealt. Four words from the lips of this counselor changed my life as he framed our counseling journey as an opportunity to see a new redemptive story emerge and shared his own hope as to what that might look like if we truly engaged the process: “I’m just so curious.” That counseling session alone altered the trajectory of our lives.

I was in seminary at the time earning my first master’s degree in biblical studies, spending a fair amount of that degree pursuing counseling classes, and have since went back to earn a second master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where I served as a firefighter, and have served in many different helping professions including career coaching, academic advising, hospital chaplaincy, and pastoral ministry. I led a pastoral counseling ministry at a large church in Nebraska for over 5 years before moving to South Florida early in 2026 to pastor a small church. I have been married for 14 years and my wife and I have two beautiful kids that came to us by way of adoption. All this to say, I bring a wide variety of life experience with me into counseling, along with my own experience as a counselee, that helps me to view my clients as holistic persons with inherent dignity and worth that deserve to experience the freedom of being seen and known right where they are so that they too can have a chance at a new redemptive story emerging in their lives.

My approach is eclectic, but I am particularly passionate about the tools available to me in narrative therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, emotion focused therapy, attachment theory, and neuroscience. I have passions in working with people struggling with relationship issues, marriage/couples counseling, chronic illness, infertility, addiction issues (especially men struggling with pornography and sexual addiction), grief, anxiety, and depression.

I would be honored to walk with you, wherever you are at.
