Ready for change? If you are wondering if counseling is the right next step for you, I’m glad you’re here. It would be my honor to come alongside you as you take steps toward hope, healing, and lasting change.
I am a Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) in Nebraska and hold a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, accredited by CACREP. I provide counseling for individuals, ages 16 and older, and couples.
My approach is integrative, strengths-based, and holistic as I value considering the whole person (physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual). I have training and experience working with a broad foundation of mental health care, including depression, anxiety, trauma, family of origin issues, grief, substance use, marriage and family, and mental illness. Your needs and goals are unique; because of this my overall approach is eclectic and I tailor our sessions to meet your needs; I often use CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems Theory. I am a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths coach, which provides insight into personality and supports you in drawing on your strengths.
Counseling couples is an area I specialize in. I have completed training for counseling marriage, betrayal, affairs, and couples where one partner struggles with PTSD or substance use recovery. Specific Gottman training I have completed includes: Gottman Method Couples Therapy Levels I and II, Couples and Addiction Recovery, and Treating Affairs and Trauma. I am a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator; the Prepare/Enrich assessment provides a helpful snapshot of a couple’s relationship for identifying areas of strength and areas that need growth.
If you desire faith-based counseling, we can integrate Christian spiritual practices into our sessions. This is entirely up to you; you can indicate your preference in your initial paperwork.
I’ve been married twenty-four years and have two young adult daughters. My relationship with Christ is central to my life. For many years I invested time and resources into mentoring and life coaching; in 2018 I became a Gallup-Certified CliftonStrengths Coach and a Board-Certified Christian Life Coach under the American Association of Christian Counselors.
If you would like to find out more about the counseling I offer or have questions about counseling in general, please feel free to contact me by texting, calling, or emailing.
