Sometimes the ways of the world and personal stressors conflict with what we need to be ok. It can often be difficult to manage how racism, violence, employment, illness, relationships, and other factors, impact one’s mental health functioning. I believe you, to be the expert on your life’s story. I will be the listening ear that hears you and provides both practical skills and insight, as you move towards living an abundant life. I look forward to providing a safe space to build trust and empower positive change.

I graduated with my master’s degree in Community Counseling from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2005. I have spent over twenty years caring for children in the foster care system. I have spent over thirty years in the human service field working with children, adults, and families.

My experience in counseling consists of six years of trauma-informed counseling with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors. I have also spent time doing home based counseling with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I utilize evidenced-based treatment of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I have assisted individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, anger, stress, self-harming behaviors, and parent-child conflict.

I will share one of my favorite Bible verses:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” –John 14:27
