My hope in the counseling process is to cultivate a place where individuals feel genuinely heard and experience safety and acceptance that helps them walk through difficult emotions and circumstances while discovering healthier ways of regulating emotions, connecting with others, and being in the “here and now.”

I am a Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner. I graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling. Before starting my career in counseling, I worked in human services and other helping professions for over six years. I worked with asylum seekers and displaced persons in France and the US for approximately three years. I also have experience working with survivors of intimate partner violence as well as challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, life transitions, cultural adjustment and culture shock, attachment trauma, relational issues, and other trauma-related concerns.

Certifications include:

Prepare/Enrich (premarital and marital counseling assessment)

Centering Prayer (a mindfulness-based prayer practice)

“The real enemies of our life are the ‘oughts’ and ‘ifs.’ They pull us backward into the unalterable past and forward into the unpredictable future. But real life takes place in the here and now.” —Henri Nouwen
